Terms of use
The ground rules for using Flow of Funds. Last updated September 27, 2026.
Flow of Funds is an independent project operated by Tarique Khan, operating Fintech North (“we”), shared with the community as a public preview. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
A public preview
This is an early preview shared openly with the community. It may change, break, or be taken offline at any time. Features, content, and availability are not guaranteed.
To keep it available and affordable, AI generation has per-visitor rate limits and a daily budget for the whole service. When a limit or the budget is reached, generation pauses until it resets. We may also pause AI generation entirely. Saved flows, editing, exports, and share links keep working.
Diagrams are illustrative. Verify before relying on them
The diagrams, labels, rails, timing, and explanations this tool produces are illustrative and informational only. They show how a payment typically works, simplified, and do not describe any specific institution’s program. Drafts are AI-generated and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are not legal, compliance, regulatory, accounting, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for the authoritative rules of any payment network, operator, or regulator.
Always verify any output against primary sources, the relevant scheme rules, operator documentation, and applicable regulation, and your own qualified advisors before relying on it for a decision, a deliverable, or anything client-facing. You are responsible for how you use what the tool produces.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the tool for anything unlawful, or to facilitate fraud or financial crime;
- submit confidential, personal, or sensitive information you are not authorized to share with a third-party AI provider;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the rate limits or any access controls;
- call the AI endpoint from scripts or other apps, or use it as a general-purpose chatbot or free AI proxy for anything other than payment flows;
- submit hateful, harassing, or abusive content;
- present the tool’s output as verified fact, professional advice, or an official position of any payment network or regulator;
- resell or redistribute the service.
Ownership and your content
The Flow of Funds application, its design, its underlying knowledge base, and its branding are owned by us and our licensors. Third-party marks (payment networks, operators, and regulators) shown for identification belong to their respective owners and do not imply endorsement.
You keep whatever rights you have in the scenarios you describe and the diagrams you create with the tool. You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you are allowed to share it with us and with our AI providers. You let us store, read, and use it to run and improve the tool. There’s no account, so keeping a copy (via export, a share link, or My Flows in your browser) is up to you. A share link is a short link to a copy of the diagram that we store for 90 days (if short links are unavailable, you get a longer link that carries the diagram inside it instead). Anyone with the link can read the diagram, so share only what you are comfortable making visible. As described in our privacy notice, we also keep a server-side record of prompts, replies, and diagrams to review and improve the tool. That’s not a saved-workspace or backup feature you can rely on to recover your work.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The preview is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law,Tarique Khan, operating Fintech North is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the tool or its output. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about them or the tool will be handled by the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
Changes
We may update these terms as the preview evolves; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
