Flow of Funds

Most people think the money moves with the message. It doesn’t: the messages run between banks and networks, and the money usually settles later, somewhere else. I’ve drawn that on whiteboards for years, so I built this to let you describe a payment in plain words and get a diagram you can edit, question and share.

It works from payments knowledge I curate and review. When it doesn’t know a country or rail, it checks official sources such as central banks and payment operators; otherwise it gives a best guess and labels it as one. If your request doesn’t quite work the way you describe it, it tells you, shows how it would, and asks one question when your answer would change the diagram.
